Stoodl ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Stoodl mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Information You Provide

  • Story Content: The text you write or select as story prompts. This content is sent to AI services for illustration generation and is not permanently stored on our servers after processing.
  • Reference Photos: If you choose to include reference photos with your story, these images are sent to AI services for illustration generation and are not stored on our servers after processing.
  • Account Information: If you subscribe or make purchases, we collect information necessary to manage your subscription through Apple's App Store.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the app experience, such as feature usage and crash reports.
  • Device Information: Basic device information necessary for app functionality (device type, OS version).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate illustrated story panels based on your text input
  • To manage your subscription and in-app purchases
  • To improve app performance and user experience
  • To provide customer support

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google AI (Gemini): Your story text and optional reference photos are sent to Google's AI services for text processing and image generation. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by their services. We do not send any personally identifiable information to Google's AI services — only the story text and images you provide.
  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription and purchase data. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier to track your subscription status. Their privacy policy applies to purchase-related data.
  • Cloudflare: Our backend infrastructure runs on Cloudflare Workers and D1. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to data processed through their services.
  • Apple App Store: Handles all payment processing for subscriptions and in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Generated illustrations are stored locally on your device.
  • Story text and reference photos are transmitted securely (HTTPS) to AI services and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing.
  • We maintain a server-side database that stores an anonymous user identifier (assigned by RevenueCat), your credit balance, and a transaction ledger for purchase and usage history. This data does not include your name, email, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • Subscription status is managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat.
  • All server-side data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure.

5. Children's Privacy

Stoodl is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Delete any locally stored content at any time through the app
  • Cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings
  • Request information about any data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of any data associated with your use of the app

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
